He first got to know Josh at shows here in Newark when he was in about 8th grade. He hadn't kicked the meat habit yet so he used to give him a hard time about being vegetarian. Boy Sets Fire actually had its first 2 practices with Josh's friend Tony playing drums, but that didn't work out. He had always wanted to be in a band with Matt and he had mentioned that he really wanted to be in a band with "that Nathan guy". It seemed like a match made in heaven. As it turned out it was and there's not been a line up change since in over 4 years. Matt lives with his parents George and Carla and occasionally his sister Melissa and Brother Marc just outside the city limits of Newark in the house that has served as out practice space for the majority of the life of Boy Sets Fire.
